Restoring…...

Our planet, Earth, is on the verge of extinction due to human actions that are hastening its demise. Earth is susceptible to catastrophic calamities when humanity pursue technical and economic advancements. Every day, more than a million hectares of forest area are lost owing to human activities and demands, reducing animal habitat. Because of the shrinking geographical area of natural ecosystems, animal diseases such as SARS-COV-2 have been able to spread to humans. Aside from the loss of natural habitat for wild animals, the rapid and uncontrollable buildup of greenhouse gases in our atmosphere has resulted in large-scale climate change. Our earth was not designed to hurt people or other animals, but we, as humans, have done so much damage to it that it is now failing to protect us.

The only answer is to rehabilitate and repair our environment, given that people have failed to avert this unfortunate scenario. There have been safeguards in place to avoid additional harm to our ecosystems, but they appear to have had little or no effect. The subject of World Environment Day 2021 is " Ecosystem Restoration" as an intervention. The game plan for rebuilding our ecosystems this year is considerably more thorough, and it will be able to fulfill the demands of our dying world. This restoration will take ten years, or more than a decade, to complete, starting in 2021 and ending in 2030. This generation is seen to be the ones capable of causing our world to take a dramatic turn toward rehabilitation rather than destruction.

Prevention is always preferable than treatment, but prevention is not possible on our earth. Humans have gone too far in their destruction. We have ruined and will continue to destroy what keeps us alive. We should all be aware of the dangers that await us if we do not stop trashing our land. Humans are intelligent species, and their intellect must be put to good use in order to preserve our world in excellent shape. Even if prevention is no longer an option, rehabilitation is never too late. Let us all work together to rehabilitate our world and reintegrate behaviors that will ensure the survival of not only ourselves, but also the planet and its ecosystems. This generation is seen to be the ones capable of causing our world to take a dramatic turn toward rehabilitation rather than destruction.
