Penance
Lent, which begins on Ash Wednesday and ends on Easter
Sunday, is a time of contemplation and preparation before the Easter
celebrations. Christians emulate Jesus Christ's penance and 40-day retreat into
the desert by observing the 40 days of Lent. Fasting, both from diet and
merriment, distinguishes Loaned.
Lent
isn't what most people look forward to. Reminiscences of giving up candy or
suffering week-by-week Stations of the Cross come to mind immediately.
We're
showcasing Lenten traditions and memories from people who have shared their
stories with us. Their experiences vary from devout and traditional to
imaginative and unusual, but they both focus on making Lent a meaningful season
of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving for themselves, their friends and families,
and their networks. Invite relatives to express their Lent thoughts, hopes, and
desires. Make the decision to assist one another with everything you wish to do
as you progress through this yearly bonus incentive, keep in mind that each
step brings you closer to our loving God's welcoming embrace.
