Inferior? Nah.

Slavery, racism, bigotry, homophobia, inequality, and the list goes on: women once lived in a very abusive, aggressive, and hypercritical culture. Boys and girls are socialized from birth to play certain roles and act in ways that society expects of them. Gender stereotypes have also excluded women, with girls not having the right to an education and women being seen as second-class citizens.

The month of March is designated as Women's Role in History Month by Presidential Proclamation No. 227 Series of 1988, and March 8 is designated as National Women's Day by Republic Act No. 6949 Series of 1990, with the aim of recognizing the achievements of Filipino women in our society.

Women's rights are described as the freedoms and chances that women have - the chances that they will be treated fairly and given the same legal rights as men. This is something that women have been struggling for for a long time. Women gained equitable access to education as a result of this achievement, allowing them to contribute culturally, socially, and politically.
